In order to promote further the development of Extenics, and provide more opportunities for experts, scholars and practitioners both in China and other countries to share and exchange their theoretical research achievements and application successes accomplished in the past 30 years, "The International Symposium on Extenics and Innovation Methods" will be held in Beijing on August 16-18, 2013. During the conference, we will hold a special activity of "The 30th Anniversary Celebration of Extenics".

Introduction to Extenics
Human society is being in progress during the process of solving various contradictory problems and sustainable exploration and innovation. Utilizing computer and Internet to solve contradictory problems and carry out exploration and innovation is still an ideal for mankind. But, Extenics, as the basic theory, method and tool to realize this ideal, is a newly emerging discipline, which uses formalized models to explore the possibility of extension and transformation of things and solve contradictory problems.
Extenics was founded in 1983. Over the past three decades, researchers have established a relatively complete theoretical framework named as extension theory, proposed extension innovation methods, and finally applied them to many different fields, including information, design, control, automation, management, etc. which forms extension engineering. Extension theory, extension innovation methods and extension engineering together constitute a new discipline named as Extenics. It has been highly appraised and recognized by many well-established, famous scientists of China, widely disseminated in China, and attracted successfully considerable attention of many scholars from different countries and regions, such as the U.S.A., Germany, Japan, France, Holland, India, Romania, Korea.
