One purpose of extension study is using computers to deal with contradictory problems, which also act as a bridge between extension theory and methods and actual fields.Therefore,in recent years,some researchers focus on The development of extension software and using extension theory and extension methods to deal with contradictory problems. Personnel who participated in the study include the researchers from following Institutions: Harbin Institute of Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Zhejiang University, Zhejiang University, Beijing Construction Engineering College, National Defense University and Guangdong University of Technology.

There is no previous study so it is very difficult. We explore the way forward under difficult circumstance.In order to exchange experience and determine the future direction of the development of extension software, the extension Engineering Committee, Chinese Artificial Intelligence Association, also held a software development Symposium to discuss their research experiences and problems. Through everyone's effort, we develop an understanding for research methods and difficulties of extension software, and exchange ideas for some preliminary test software.

On the other hand, in order to obtain the data and knowledge needed to solve contradiction problems, some researchers began to research on another type of extension software - extension data mining software, and develop an understanding for the process in which such software need to be addressed.

During 20-23 August of 2010, the Chinese Artificial Intelligence Society Extension Engineering Committee held a Symposium in Beijing.Scholars have exchanged ideas about the development of extension test software, and demonstrated the following test software.

The development of test software has opened up the path which would continue continued to promote extension software in future research.
