The  foundation and development of the original subject Extenics indicates that  Chinese have the ability to do original innovative research work. The National  Natural Science Foundation of China’s support is a strong guarantee to original  and innovative research.

Extenics,  a subject established by a Chinese scholar, has fundamentally shaped after more  than 20 years’ study and development. An original and cross-sectional subject  was found by a Chinese scholar—Prof. Wen Cai in 1983, extenics uses formal  models to research the extension possibility of things and the rules and  methods of innovation, which will finally be used in contradiction solution.

Since  1988, the original and innovative research studied by Extension Engineering  Research Laboratory, GDUT with continuous six sciences foundation projects has been supported by the Department of Management  Sciences of National Natural Science Foundation Committee. The  Department of Management Sciences also assists 7 extension projects conduted  by other universities such as THU, ZJU and ECUST, together with other science  department. These projects not only forcefully guarantee the survival of  Extenics but also devote to the sound and rapid development of Extenics, which  provide the basic conditions for the subject’s initial foundation. The  development of Extenics indicates that Chinese have the ability to do original  innovative research work. The support of National Natural Science Foundation of  China is a strong guarantee to original and innovative research.
