From July 16 to 18, 2012, The Meeting of Standing Committee of Extension Engineering Specialized Committee of Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence, The Work Meeting of Research Institute of Extenics and Innovation Methods, Guangdong University of Technology, and The Meeting of Extenics Academic Committee were held in Guangdong Pearl Island Hotel. The participants included members of the standing committee of Extension Engineering Committee, researchers of the research institute and members of the academic committee of Guangdong University of Technology, National University of Defense Technology, Dalian Maritime University, Nanchang University, Lanzhou University, Ningbo Institute of Technology, Zhejiang University, Zhejiang University of Technology, Nanchang Hangkong University, Nanjing University of Finance & Economics, Yantai Naval Aeronautical Engineering Academy, Jilin Institute of Chemical Technology, Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine, South China Agricultural University and Shenzhen Soultao Network Technology Co., Ltd and etc. .
“The Meeting of Standing Committee of Extension Engineering Specialized Committee” was presided over by Professor Liu Wei, deputy director of Extension Engineering Committee and president of Shenzhen Research Institute of Dalian Maritime University. Participants in the meeting introduced the report of “Latest Trend of Extenics and Tasks of This Meeting of Standing Committee” made by Yang Chunyan, executive deputy director of Extension Engineering Committee of Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence and professor of Guangdong University of Technology, and complementary explanations of Zhao Yanwei, deputy director of Extension Engineering Committee and professor of Zhejiang University of Technology. Representatives had a heated discussion. All of them agreed that Extenics had developed rapidly over the past years; theoretical researches and application had been promoted more extensively and intensively; Extenics has made great progress in internationalization.
“The Meeting of Extenics Academic Committee” was presided over by Yu Yongquan, deputy director of Extenics Academic Committee and professor of Guangdong University of Technology. Chen Wenwei, director of the academic committee and professor of National University of Defense Technology gave a speech “Work Summary Report of Academic Committee”, systematically introduced the work of the academic committee and research progress of extension software, extension strategy generation and extension data mining, and emphasized the role of knowledge of Extenics in developing software. Yang Guowei, deputy director of the academic committee and professor of Nanchang Hangkong University reported latest project applications and awards. During the discussion, participants express their opinions actively, came up with new and better ways for the development of Extenics, and proposed a series of suggestions to promote Extenics.
“The Work Meeting of Research Institute of Extenics and Innovation Methods of Guangdong University of Technology” was hosted by Huang Jincai, deputy director of the research institute and professor of National University of Defense Technology, and Deng Qunzhao, deputy director of the research institute and professor of Nanchang University. Prof. Yang Chunyan, director of the research institute. They made a comprehensive report of the development of the research institute in her “Work Summary of Research Institute of Extenics and Innovation Methods of Guangdong University of Technology”. The meeting discussed “Preparation for 2013 International Extenics Meeting”. Li Qiaoxing, deputy secretary-general of Extension Engineering Specialized Committee and associate professor of Lanzhou University made a report of the preparation progress of the meeting, discussed with participants about key issues, and confirmed work focus and content of the next stage.
The promotion and training of Extenics were discussed in the meeting. Li Xingsen, secretary-general of Extension Engineering Specialized Committee and professor of Ningbo Institute of Technology, Zhejiang University, and Su Zhenqing, general manager of Shenzhen Soultao Network Technology Co., Ltd, made reports of promotion of Extenics. The meeting carefully studied the promotion, training and publicity of Extenics.
Prof. Cai Wen, national expert with outstanding contribution, founder of Extenics and director of Extension Engineering Specialized Committee of Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence explained “Preparation for Extenics Academy” and put forward important suggestions. Other experts strongly agreed that the establishment of the research institute would more effectively promote the development and internationalization of Extenics.
The meeting also made corresponding arrangements about younger of Extension Engineering Specialized Committee and construction of leading body.

The successful held of the meeting marks a new stage of Extenics research. The meeting concluded that, Extenics has developed rapidly and many scholars from all over the world have joined in research team of Extenics with overwhelming progress since 2011 when the guidelines of “going towards the world and enterprises” was proposed in the 13th National Extenics Annual Meeting,. A series of important issues have been discussed and the orientation and focus of Extenics have been clarified, which will facilitate further researches and popularize the study of ?Extenics. It is hoped that all Extenics scholars can continue to work hard and promote Extenics to enter the world’s science palace in the near future.
